Hanna Hakala
Hanna Hakala is a graphic designer from Helsinki, Finland. Originally a developmental biologist, Hanna studied graphic design at the University of Art and Design Helsinki and type design in the postgraduate master TypeMedia course at the Royal Academy of Art in the Hague, the Netherlands.
Hanna works on visual identities at the design agency Hahmo since 2008. Aside from the day job she takes occasional teaching engagements at the Aalto University in Helsinki.
In 2014 Hanna’s dtl Valiance (at that time under development still) got awarded with silver in the Finnish design competition Vuoden Huiput. This is the most important event for graphic design and advertising in Finland. The aim of this annual competition is to emphasise the importance of the work by visual-communication professionals in advertising and design.
